Boring but necessary

Whilst we’ll do everything we can to make your holiday relaxing and pleasurable, there are inevitably Terms and Conditions that apply. Please read these with care.

Eligibility

Drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 70 years of age, in good health, be regular drivers and must have held a full driving license for at least 2 years. Drivers from overseas must present a valid international driving license.

All drivers MUST present their licenses (card & paper counterpart if applicable) upon collection of the van.

Use is restricted to Cornwall and West Devon – any deviation from this must be agreed in writing.

No exceptions are made to this – please, please do not forget to bring your license.

Insurance

The van is comprehensively insured and includes passenger liability. The hirer is responsible for an excess of £500. This excess applies to each and every incident and includes loss or damage to equipment, fixtures and fittings, or to third party vehicles.

Insurance is for the van and its equipment only; personal possessions are not covered. Hirers are advised to take out their own additional holiday insurance.

Cornwall Campers are not, under any circumstances, responsible for damage in connection with or consequent upon any accident or breakdown.

We require a second proof of address e.g recent utility bill, bank statement etc which is to be shown upon collection.

Breakdown

In the event of an accident or breakdown, recovery and repair services will be provided, provided you are within Cornwall and West Devon.

Up to £50 may be spent on running repairs without our prior consent. Cornwall Campers will reimburse you upon production of a valid VAT receipt.

While every effort is made to ensure that our vans are in roadworthy condition, we cannot accept liability for accommodation charges, replacement vehicle costs or any claims arising from breakdown, accident or other causes. A replacement van may be available, subject to availability.

Tyre damage is your responsibility – please treat them well.

Animals

We love animals, but some folk don’t. No animals other than guide dogs are allowed in our vans.

Your Car

Parking will be provided for your own vehicle.

Cornwall Campers can accept no responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, the vehicle or its contents, however caused.

Booking

A deposit of £150 is payable on booking. The balance of the hire charge is payable 21 days prior to the hire date.

Cancellation

In the event of cancellation two weeks or more prior to the start date the deposit will be forfeited.

In the event of cancellation within 2 weeks of the start date of the hire period 75% of the full hire charge will be forfeited.

(We really don’t want to make money this way and, should we get a replacement booking your hire charge will be refunded in full minus an admin charge of £25).

Security deposit

When you collect your van, we’ll need a security deposit of £200. If the van and its equipment are returned in good condition, whole and undamaged this security deposit will be refunded in full within 7 days. Should the condition not be so, then repair/replacement/cleaning costs will be deducted from this deposit and the balance returned.

Your van will be provided with a full tank of petrol and must be returned likewise. There are petrol stations located at Carland Cross (A30 heading from the east), Chiverton Cross (A30 heading from the west), Perranporth and in Newquay. Please note that, due to the inconvenience caused to us by a van being returned only part full, we will charge an administration charge of £20 on top of the cost of the petrol if we have to fill your van up.

Gas is provided and one additional cylinder will be refunded upon production of a valid VAT receipt.
